as knowledge and cultural enrichment, such as habitat architecture and utopia: works have been exhibited in major cultural sites in Europe, America, Australia, Japan.
would be simplistic to frame the work of this great international artist in one of style, because his genius creations than with the canons of classical sculpture. After the development of the idea
base, Morandini entrusts the work to the development of mathematical certainty, the balance of relations formal scientifically verifiable. Rhythms and volumes, in a fine alternation of black and white, offering a limitless multiplication of books, with the key itself internally on their extent.
In his works the artist explores different themes and movement in space, such as torsion, tension, expansion, overlapping, and translates its investigation into the world of geometry, using the two-dimensional and three-dimensional language, the conceptual basis of his research is essential that everything around us can be understood as "livable."
True to its systematic approach, Morandini creates works in many different scales, from graphics to sculpture, architecture and design, absolutely original, recognizable and consistent, rigorous and creative with his work as an artist could in time find forms and sculptures made, consciously or unconsciously in the first and continuation of his research, had and have in their building, in addition to their formal private cultural enjoyment, even a concrete architectural and unpredictable vitality.
Some examples will be shown in this solo show, through large photographs and original artwork, which over time have clearly demonstrated this clear to them, and two extraordinary vocation.

Lee Ufan

Lee Ufan: Marking Infinity
June 24–September 28, 2011
This exhibition is made possible with lead sponsorship from Samsung.

Lee Ufan: Marking Infinity is the first North American museum retrospective devoted to artist, philosopher, and poet Lee Ufan, who has been active in Korea, Japan, and Europe over the last forty years. The exhibition charts the artist’s creation of a visual, conceptual, and theoretical language that has radicalized and expanded the possibilities for sculpture and painting. Lee is acclaimed for an innovative body of work that emphasizes process, materials, and the experiential engagement of viewer and site. The exhibition features some ninety works from the 1960s to the present—including a new site-specific installation—and will be installed throughout the museum, beginning with the rotunda floor and extending up the six ramps of the building and into two Annex galleries. The selection of paintings, works on paper, sculpture, and installations includes Lee’s most iconic works, many presented in America for the first time.

Lee Ufan was born in Korea in 1936. He earned a degree in philosophy from Nihon University, Tokyo, and has from the earliest stages of his work been critically engaged with the writings of Martin Heidegger, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, Michel Foucault, and Nishida Kitaro. In the late 1960s, Lee came to international prominence as the visionary theorist and most representative practitioner of the influential Japanese art movement Mono-ha (School of Things), applying the theories of structuralism and phenomenology to construct a model of otherness that was highly critical of modernism and in dialogue with international Post-Minimalist practices.

Lee Ufan: Marking Infinity is organized by Alexandra Munroe, Samsung Senior Curator of Asian Art at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Sandhini Poddar, Assistant Curator of Asian Art, and Nancy Lim, Asian Art Curatorial Fellow Provided curatorial support. The exhibition is Accompanied by a fully illustrated catalog.

The works shown in the exhibition, around 50 works on canvas, metal table and produced Were Between the end of the Fifties and the Seventies. The gallery has always Closely Followed Fruhtrunk's work and artistic development and has organized 5 personal exhibitions.
The exhibition opens with “5 Kreiss u. violettes Quadrat” from 1956 and “Weisse Positionen” from 1957/59, that were fundamentally important works for the following production of the artist. Continuing with “Zwei kleine zwei grosse Reihen” from 1965 from the same series which has been shown in the exhibition “The responsive eye” at the MOMA in New York. And last but not least a couple of works that represent the most well known works of Fruhtrunk, some on metal with fluorescent colours that have been an example for many artists, and is a clear recognizable signature of his art.

As a German Bavarian, student of Hans Arp and Fernand Léger, friend of Willi Baumeister, Max Bill, Julius Bissier and Arturo Bonfanti, Fruhtrunk developed a very personalized, constructive and concrete language of forms. In the course of his artistic career, he has brought to the extreme the possibilities of colour. It is well shown in this exhibition that, through thirty years of activity, he offers a comprehensive view on his artistic path. He was a predecessor of a language that even today is very present and he has inspired a large group of artists that owe him a lot.

This is the final event for this year in which we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the gallery. The exhibition is set as part of the programme that consists of the re-discovery of artists that are less well known to the large public, not following the trends But Anticipating the market.
